Day 1: NICOSIA

After meeting at Istanbul Airport International Departures Terminal, we complete ticket and baggage procedures and take our flight to Nicosia. Upon arrival at Ercan Airport and completing entry procedures, we are welcomed by our guide and transfer vehicle. Our first stop is the Tomb of the Forty Martyrs, where 40 companions of the Prophet are buried, believed to have been martyred during the Islamic conquests of Cyprus in the 7th century. This deeply spiritual visit sets the tone for our tour as we continue towards Nicosia.

We begin with a visit to the Bogaz Martyrs’ Cemetery, where 330 Turkish soldiers who died in 1974 are buried. Next, we visit the Barbarism Museum, located in the house where Major Nihat Ilhan’s wife and three children were tragically murdered in their bathtub. We then have a panoramic view of the Green Line.

The tour continues with an exploration of the Walled City of Nicosia. We disembark at the iconic Kyrenia Gate and continue our walk through history. Stops include the Cyprus Turkish National Struggle and History Museum, the Cyprus Mevlevi Lodge, the Samanbahçe Houses, Sarayönü Square, the Column of Venice, and the Lokmacı Border Gate that divides the Arasta Bazaar. Finally, we have free time at the Büyük Han (Great Inn). At the agreed time, we gather and transfer by coach to our hotel in Famagusta. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.

Day 2: KYRENIA – LEFKE

After breakfast at the hotel, we board our coach. Our first visit is to the Tomb of Commander Hz. Ömer in Kyrenia. Then we explore the Karaoğlanoğlu area, the site of the 1974 landing operation, including visits to the Ship Museum, War Helicopter, Peace and Freedom Museum, Open-Air Museum, and Martyrs’ Cemetery.

We continue along the route to Guzelyurt and Lefke. On the way, we stop at the Geçitköy Dam—a project known as the "project of the century" for transferring water under the sea from Anamur, Turkey—to take commemorative photos. Surrounded by citrus orchards and coastal beauty, we arrive in Güzelyurt, where we visit the monument and museum of Turkey’s first air force martyr, Cengiz Topel.

We learn about the legacy of the CMC mining company in the area before heading to Lefke, an Ottoman town with beautifully preserved traditional houses and bay windows. Here, we visit the lodge and tomb of the esteemed spiritual leader Shaykh Nazim al-Qubrusi. After spiritual reflections and conversations at the lodge, we return to our hotel in Famagusta. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.

Day 3: CLOSED MARAŞ – FAMAGUSTA

After breakfast, we begin our excursion to the closed city of Varosha (Maraş), which came under Turkish control during the 1974 Cyprus Peace Operation. Once a top vacation destination, the now-abandoned city offers a ghostly atmosphere. We also visit the mosque and buildings belonging to the Bilal Ağa Foundation, built in 1813.

Our tour continues inside the historic walled city of Famagusta, where we visit landmarks such as Lala Mustafa Pasha Mosque, Namık Kemal Dungeon, the Venetian Palace, the tomb of Mehmet Çelebi, and the ancient sycamore tree. We end the day with visits to the Tomb of Kutup Osman and the Cyprus Gallipoli Martyrs’ Memorial. Return to hotel for overnight stay.

Day 4: FAMAGUSTA – NICOSIA

After breakfast and checking out of the hotel, we load our luggage and begin the final day of the tour. We first visit the martyr villages in the Famagusta region—Atlılar, Muratağa, and Sandallar—where 126 innocent villagers were massacred by the EOKA terrorist organization in 1974. The visit to the converted village school, now a museum, is an emotionally powerful experience.

Next, we head back toward Nicosia and stop at the Jumbo Shopping Mall for a last chance to shop before our flight. After completing our shopping, we transfer to Ercan Airport. Following ticket and baggage procedures at the airline counter, we take our flight back to Istanbul. Welcome home!
