HONG KONG
HONG KONG

Day 1: HONG KONG

Meeting at Istanbul Airport International Departures Terminal. Flight with Turkish Airlines at 17:10 to Hong Kong. After a 10-hour journey, we arrive at Hong Kong International Airport at 08:20 local time. Upon arrival, we are greeted by our guide and begin our explorations by private vehicle. Our first stop is the Mid-Levels Escalator area, the world’s longest covered escalator system. It connects the colonial-style streets between the SoHo district and Central. Here we will feel the rhythm of local life, the diversity of cultures, and the creative street art atmosphere.

We then continue with a short walk through Central to see Bank of China Tower, the symbol of Hong Kong, and admire the city’s modern skyscrapers. The view of Victoria Harbour with its soaring towers and deep blue waters represents the heart of modern Hong Kong — a unique metropolis where East meets West and a global financial hub with a natural harbor.

Dinner and overnight stay at our hotel in Hong Kong.

Day 2: HONG KONG

After breakfast at the hotel, we head to one of Hong Kong’s most famous landmarks — Victoria Peak. Taking the historic Peak Tram, which has been operating for nearly 130 years, we enjoy breathtaking panoramic views of the city’s modern and historical sides. Victoria Peak is not just a viewing point, but also a historical residential area where Hong Kong’s elite once lived. The elegant Victorian-style houses here reflect the city’s colonial past.

At Peak Tower, we take photos from the observation deck and learn from our guide about Hong Kong’s geography, development, and port economy. Next, we visit PMQ (Police Married Quarters), now transformed into a creative hub hosting modern artists, design studios, and boutique shops. There will be free time for browsing and shopping.

Dinner and overnight stay in Hong Kong.

(Alternative shopping options: Harbour City in Kowloon — luxury shopping mall; or Causeway Bay — a lively local district with international and boutique stores.)

Day 3: MACAU

After breakfast, we travel to Macau, a special administrative region on China’s southern coast, where East and West have intertwined for centuries. Although entirely located in Asia, Macau’s long history as a Portuguese colony gives it a distinct European charm, with baroque churches, pastel-colored buildings, and Latin-alphabet street signs. The city’s name comes from A-Ma Temple, dedicated to the sea goddess Mazu — one of Macau’s oldest religious sites and a sacred place for Chinese sailors.

We take a scenic 1-hour ferry ride across the South China Sea from Victoria Harbour to Macau. Upon arrival, our walking tour begins in the UNESCO World Heritage district, visiting Senado Square and the Ruins of St. Paul’s, offering postcard-perfect views with its cobblestone streets and colorful facades. We then explore the A-Ma Temple and the Macau Maritime Museum, delving into the city’s maritime and spiritual heritage. Finally, we visit Mandarin’s House, an authentic Chinese mansion reflecting traditional life.

In the evening, we return to Hong Kong by ferry. Dinner and overnight stay in Hong Kong.

Day 4: HONG KONG

After breakfast, we begin a culturally rich day. Our first stop is Wong Tai Sin Temple, known for granting wishes. Here, we learn from our guide about Taoism, Buddhism, and Confucianism, and how these belief systems coexist in Hong Kong. Next, we visit the tranquil Chi Lin Nunnery and Nan Lian Garden, masterpieces of wooden Buddhist architecture and Zen landscape design, offering peace and harmony.

In the afternoon, free time for shopping at Temple Street Night Market and Ladies Market, two of Hong Kong’s liveliest bazaars. Ladies Market is especially famous for handmade goods and colorful textiles — a perfect place to practice your bargaining skills.

Dinner and overnight stay at our hotel in Hong Kong.

Day 5: HONG KONG – TAIPEI

After breakfast, we check out and bid farewell to Hong Kong. Transfer to the airport and a short 2-hour flight to Taipei, the capital of Taiwan. Upon arrival, we start our city tour with Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall, dedicated to the founder of modern Taiwan. This monumental square, along with the National Theater & Concert Hall, impresses visitors with traditional Chinese architecture and its historical significance.

Next, we see Taipei 101, the city’s iconic skyscraper and an engineering marvel designed to withstand typhoons and earthquakes. Inside, a massive 660-ton “Tuned Mass Damper” stabilizes the building during tremors. Taipei’s streets are famous for their countless scooters — nearly every resident owns one, giving the city a unique rhythm and energy.

Dinner and overnight stay in Taipei.

Day 6: TAIPEI

After breakfast, we explore Taipei’s historical and cultural side. We visit Longshan Temple, an 18th-century Buddhist temple that reflects traditional Taiwanese spirituality. Then we walk through Bopiliao Historical Block, where restored colonial-era buildings tell the story of Taiwan’s past under various rulers.

Throughout its history, Taiwan has been influenced by the Dutch, Spanish, Chinese, and most notably, the Japanese colonial period (1895–1945), which brought modernization in infrastructure, education, and architecture — many buildings from this era still stand in Taipei today.

We then continue to Dihua Street, famous for spice merchants, tea houses, and traditional goods. At Huashan 1914 Creative Park, we’ll discover art galleries, workshops, and handmade crafts. Taiwanese street food is considered a cultural heritage, and the Shilin Night Market, one of Asia’s largest, offers endless options — from bubble tea and scallion pancakes to fresh tropical fruits.

Dinner and overnight stay in Taipei.

Day 7: TAIPEI – JIUFEN

After breakfast, we set out for a day combining nature and culture. Our first stop is Taipei Zoo, one of Asia’s largest, home to giant pandas, Asian elephants, and rare bird species. Next, we ride the Maokong Gondola, gliding above the lush green hills surrounding Taipei — an unforgettable experience, especially in glass-bottom cabins offering panoramic forest views.

At the top, we take a short break at a local tea house to taste Taiwan’s famous Oolong tea. We then travel to Jiufen, a historic mountain village about an hour away. Once a prosperous gold-mining town, Jiufen is now a charming maze of lantern-lit alleys, tea houses, and art shops — its nostalgic atmosphere famously inspired Studio Ghibli’s Spirited Away.

Dinner and overnight stay in Taipei.

Day 8: TAIPEI – ISTANBUL

After breakfast, we check out from the hotel and set out for our final visits before the flight. We begin with Lin An Tai Historical House & Garden, one of Taiwan’s best-preserved examples of traditional Hokkien architecture from the 18th century, reflecting the aesthetics and lifestyle of that era.

Then, we return to Dihua Street for last-minute shopping — handmade soaps, Taiwanese teas, porcelain souvenirs, and spices — or visit modern malls such as Taipei City Mall or Shin Kong Mitsukoshi. Taipei beautifully blends modern city life with natural tranquility; an early morning walk reveals local markets and the city’s vibrant daily rhythm.

After free time, we transfer to Taipei Taoyuan International Airport for our 22:10 Turkish Airlines flight to Istanbul, arriving the next morning at 05:00.
