Day 1: CAIRO

Meeting at Sabiha Gökçen Airport. Departure to Cairo, the capital of Egypt, with Air Cairo Airlines. Upon arrival, we head to Al-Muizz Street, Cairo’s most significant historical street, to explore architectural works that transport us through different centuries of history. Among these are beautiful Sabil-Kuttabs, grand complexes belonging to the Mamluk Sultans, and mosques and inns from the Ottoman era with Turkish inscriptions. After visiting Al-Muizz Street, we proceed to Cairo’s historic Khan el-Khalili Bazaar and visit the Mosque of Imam Hussein, where the head of Imam Hussein is believed to be buried. We then enjoy a panoramic view of Al-Azhar University before having some free time as directed by our guide. Afterward, transfer to our hotel in Cairo.

Day 2: ALEXANDRIA

After breakfast at the hotel, we set out to explore Alexandria—one of Egypt’s most important cities, both historically and for tourism. During our panoramic city tour, we visit the Citadel of Qaitbay, built from the remains of the ancient Lighthouse of Alexandria, one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. We then visit the Mosque of Abu al-Abbas al-Mursi and the tomb of Imam al-Busiri, the great Islamic poet known for his famous poem “Qasidat al-Burda” written in praise of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). We view the modern Library of Alexandria from the outside, then return to Cairo (approximately 2.5 hours). Dinner, arrival, and overnight at the hotel.
