Bosnia and Herzegovina Tour (Sarajevo, Mostar, Travnik)

The group meets at Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen Airport at 10:15 AM and flies to Sarajevo at 1:15 PM. After being met by the guide, the group heads to Baščaršija, passing buildings still marked by wartime shelling, Europe's first electric tram line, a former Yugoslav army complex now used as a university campus, the huge US embassy building, the city museum, the Parliament building, and the region's largest shopping mall. The walk around Baščaršija covers the grave of Alija Izetbegović, the Sebilj fountain, Kazandžiluk Street, Morića Han, the Gazi Husrev-beg Mosque, the clock tower, the Kuršumlija Madrasa, the Latin Bridge, the Emperor's Mosque, an Orthodox church and a synagogue, wartime bombing sites, the site of the Markale market massacre, and the Vijećnica Library. Dinner is taken in Baščaršija and the group stays overnight at the hotel.

After breakfast, the group travels 90 km to Travnik, known as the city of viziers. The city tour includes the historic Ottoman fortress and its panoramic view, the 300-year-old Ibrahim Pasha Madrasa, the Plava Voda spring where Sultan Mehmed the Conqueror is said to have drunk water, Alaca Mosque, the old bazaar, and the clock tower. The group then travels 20 km to the village of Ahmići, visiting the site where many people were killed during the war. Afterward the group returns 70 km to Sarajevo for dinner and an overnight stay at the hotel.

After breakfast, the group travels 50 km to Konjic to see the Konjic Bridge and the mosque with the broken minaret. They then continue 80 km to the Blagaj Tekke, also known as the Sarı Saltuk Tekke, built at the source of the Buna River. The group then travels 12 km to Mostar, visiting the old bazaar, the historic Koski Mehmed Pasha Mosque, the historic Mostar Bridge, and the Tara Tower. Afterward, dinner featuring the famous spit-roasted lamb is served in Jablanica, followed by the return to Sarajevo for an overnight stay.

After breakfast, the day begins at Vrelo Bosna, the source of Sarajevo's water supply at the foot of Mount Igman. After viewing the historic Roman Bridge, the group visits the Tunnel and its museum, the wartime passage through which the city's supplies and movement were sustained for two and a half years. Afterward, the group heads to Sarajevo Airport; following check-in and passport control, the flight departs at 3:35 PM for Istanbul, landing at 6:30 PM.
